An experience designed to discover the Palio di Siena through its traditions, the life of the Contrade, and the unique atmosphere that fills the city during the days surrounding the event.

The package combines three different experiences: attending one of the Evening Trial Races in Piazza del Campo, taking part in the traditional Cena della Prova Generale (Contrada Dinner), and discovering Siena with a guided tour of the city and the Duomo.

JUNE 30 – EVENING TRIAL RACE IN PIAZZA DEL CAMPO

Palio Evening Trial Race
In the late afternoon, you will attend the Evening Trial Race leading up to the Palio from a viewing position overlooking Piazza del Campo. A special opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the event and watch the horses, jockeys and Contrade during one of the key moments leading up to the Palio.

JULY 1 – CONTRADA DINNER

In the evening, you will take part in the traditional Cena della Prova Generale (Contrada Dinner), hosted by one of Siena’s Contrade. Long tables fill the streets and squares, bringing together Contrada members and guests in a unique atmosphere of celebration, tradition and anticipation for the Palio. Dinner begins at approximately 8:45 PM and includes a traditional menu accompanied by local wine. Attendance is by invitation only, and the hosting Contrada will be communicated before the event.

JULY 2 – SIENA & DUOMO

Guided Tour of Siena and the Duomo
On the morning of the Palio, a guided tour will introduce you to Siena, its history and the traditions connected to the city and the Palio, with entrance to the Duomo included.

PLAN YOUR STAY

As the first activity takes place in the late afternoon of June 30, we recommend arriving in Siena by that morning or, preferably, the previous day, and planning your stay at least through July 2 so that you can participate in all the included experiences.

Important: the Discover Palio Experience does not include a ticket to attend the Palio on July 2. The Evening Trial Race, Contrada Dinner and guided tour are scheduled exclusively for the dates and times indicated and will not be rescheduled in the event of cancellation or if they cannot take place.
